Suniel Shetty carved a ripped physique to set an example for his son Ahan
Face of Mission Fit India, Suniel Shetty has an enviable body at the age of 55. An age which is notorious for people to let go off their fitness goals and go soft on their efforts, Suniel has set an example of how fitness can be achieved at any age. His salt and pepper look, with athletic physique has soared his brand even more. Fitness is a way of life – A lifestyle change. By this, I mean habits that you can sustain throughout your life. Getting fit is like running a marathon. You need to go slow but you need to go strong. Your diet and exercise play an important role in the way you look and feel.
I have recently started my fitness journey and can vouch for the fact that it is a major lifestyle change and requires a lot of discipline and commitment. Looking after myself and my family is my priority. I have been encouraging them to take up some kind of sports or fitness activity off late. And also ensured that they are covered adequately. I took a health insurance recently, other than a life insurance policy after checking deals for online health insurance plans. And took steps to create healthy meal plans for the entire week so that they eat healthier food than before.
Coming back to our fitness icon Suniel, we all know that he has been into fitness for many years. Then what made him push his limits now? The answer lies in his son Ahan, who is a spitting image of his father.
Fitness
As an involved father, Suniel decided to train his son after his 14th birthday. He wanted to set a good example for his son Ahan, so he started focusing more on his own diet and training to achieve that ripped look. Suniel told a very reputed online magazine that there’s a lot of science that goes into fitness. It wasn’t like that when he was young. He started understanding the role of DNA, the difference between food intolerance and allergy and personalized diet and most importantly he took up yoga.
His approach towards exercise has changed as well. He wakes up very early and does almost 2 hours of exercise daily. The first hour is dedicated to yoga and the next 45 minutes into strength training. He tries to lift light but with more repetitions. He tries to do three to four sets of various exercises targeting each muscle group.
Diet
His meal plan is simple. He eats five egg whites in breakfast. Avoids bread. Eats quinoa flour roti. Lunch is mainly brown rice with fish/chicken, and for snacks he prefers fruits and peanut butter. Dinner is usually chicken/any other protein and a soup. He cheats on Saturdays and satisfies his sweet tooth with one date after every meal. Sometimes he also eats sweet potatoes.
He had a hard time cutting out the sugar from his diet. We all relate to this, isn’t it?
Ahan has definitely taken a cue from his father’s strict diet and fitness routine. He himself looks like a serious fitness enthusiast. It is very true that only commitment and consistency bears success. So, all the people who are gearing up for New Year, with a new resolution in mind should look at Shetty’s and launch their fitness mission.
